The Dunblane-Hydro Hotel

Visually stunning hotel with friendly staff

We went to the Dunblane Hydro for a night in October and had an excellent time. We had spent the day hill walking and enjoyed the relaxation and surroundings of the hotel. The staff were helpful throughout and the rooms comfortable and well equiped.
Our only complaint was that the restaurant was undergoing some form of refurbishment and hence there was only a carvery rather than an a-la-carte menu. However the food that was served was excellent.
The hotel also has a swimming pool and fitness area but we did not make use of these.
Would certainly stay here again.

Insufficient Staff

Spent Xmas as part of a tour as we did last year.Excellent upgraded facilities all round
and friendly,helpful staff who unfortunately seemed at times unable to cope due to lack of numbers.
Main meals on two occasions served lukewarm which was the opinion of many in our party.

went in with no hair and came home needing hair cut

hotel is nice! just watch for hair in the food sent back twice for hair in the meal gave up and walked out, sat down at 7.00pm got hairy main course at 1130 they say in menu come and have a dining experience certainly was! 10 out of 10 for the person that came up with that ; put that person in the kitchen and i will come back, only one thats got a clue the manager would not even come and talk GOT RESULT IN THE END TAKE AWAY IN DUNBLANE GOOD GRUB!!!!

Dunblane - A Cathedral City

"A great base for a visit to Central Scotland"

Dunblane is a great place to visit and/or stay if you are touring around Central Scotland. It has good transport links by both road and rail and is only 45 minutes' drive from both GLA and EDI airports.

As well as the Cathedral and other historical attractions in the town itself, within a 20-minute drive are Callander and the Trossachs National Park, the historic city of Stirling with the castle, National Wallace Monument and Bannockburn battlefield, the Falkirk Wheel.
There are many more great places to visit within an hour's driving time, including distilleries, Highland walking country, St. Andrews, Bo'ness steam railway and many top quality golf courses.
