Complained about the food and told not to go back!

Had meal on 040711. Very disappointing. Seems I have high standards because I like cooked vegetables, steak in steak pie, cottage pie that doesn't look like a dogs dinner.....very overcooked at that, cold vegetables; chicken sizzler with salad - exaggerated description, tiny salad garnish. Suffice to say manager and then owner both same attitude i.e. 'no-one else has complained' 'I must have high standards'...................not concerned about obvious poor quality of meal. When I explained someone in party had misfortune to reluctantly return a steak about a year previously (turned out chef wasn't working that night and guess what told no-one else had complained!), we were told by owner we were serial complainers!!! and not to go back!!!
But no concern over poor quality of food. That is what concerned me the most. Surely that is a concern, but what an attitude.
No quality and no value for money. Is it so wrong to at the very least expect that, after all steaks are about £16 plus and a main course about £9 or more. Is it too much to expect a decent meal. I would advise anyone on the road to that hotel to keep going and go to the Kings Arms in Lockerbie, food consistentlygreat, staff consistently great, all together a much better experience!
