Gala weekend

Moffat is one of the most interesting places to stop on the way from Gretna to Glasgow.
We were there for Gala weekend and it was busy with pipe band, decorated floats, various kinds of competition and a torchlight parade and bonfire.
It is a tourist destination so has lots of hotels, guest houses, restaurants and cafes although a very small town. The surrounding countryside is beautiful of course (well, it is Scotland after all).
