The Old Golf Course
by galy
This course is the oldest golf course in the world. Home of Golf where golf was first played 600 years ago. It stil remains a real test of golf for today's champions. Despite its reputation and status, it is a public course and is one of six public courses on St Andrews Links.
The Old Course has evolved over time and
was not designed by any one architect.
In a nice sunny day, the course and the near by sea are a great picture
St Andrews Cathedral, Rules Tower
by Ash59
The Romanesque St Rules Tower, to the right of the picture, was built to hold the holy relics until the Cathedral was completed. It is possible to climb this Tower to the top for a fine view of the surrounding area. You can purchase a coin for entry from the museum.
St Bridget's Kirk, Dalgety
by stevezero
St Bridgets is the remains of a medieval church, which was alered considerably in the 17th C for protestants. It was built for the Earl of Dunfermline, and the west end has a burial vault with a laird's vault above.
The kirk is up a private road (walk or cycle) and from it you have magnificent views of the Frothof Firth and the forth road and rail bridges.
St. Andrew's - other than golf....

"There's so much more than just golf"
Make sure to visit the castle first. Once you pay for entry, which is well worth the look around, you will also get access to the Abbey Tower. make sure you find the tunnel in the castle, it's worth exploring. In the Abbey ruins is the Abbey Tower which offers a fantastic view of the surrounds.
This is in the castle tunnels - my sister and my partner, Rob. Make sure you are not claustrophobic, but it's well worth it (and opens up at the far end)
