St. Andrews Cathedral and St. Rule's Tower
by saraheg77
These are the remains of the largest cathedral in Scotland. The Cathedral Museum was fun and had a collection of Early Christian and medieval monuments and other relics found on the site.
I really enjoyed wandering around this site. I think I enjoy the sites that are in ruins even more than the ones that are still in tact!
You can get a joint admission with the St. Andrews Castle, but also make sure you check through Historic Scotland for multiple site tickets if you plan to see several of their sites throughout Scotland. (There is a link to Historic Scotland on the aboutbritain site below.)

Two things in the castle are particulary interest ing:
1. The mine and counter-mine tunnelled through the rock during the 1546 siege.
2. The bottle dungeon in the Sea Tower.
