Hi Everyone.
I'm moving to Aberdeen in August as I've got a job offer over there. My work place would be in Dyce. I need some advice on
1. where, and
2. how I can search for accommodation around.
I'd like to rent a one bedroom apartment, hopefully something below 300 or even 250 pounds per month.
Alternatively, To be honest, I wouldn't mind staying in a multiple bedroom apartment as well, as long as I can get a private room for myself. If this is the case, what sort of monthly rental can I expect?
Basically my criteria would be
1. low cost
2. safe
3. near to Dyce
Please advice yea!
Thanks a lot everyone!
Hi again folks,
Hope to hear from anyone soon.
Thanks.
just passing through (am researching aberdeen myself as me and the Mrs might be moving there next year....) anyway this forum is a bit dead so you could try here
http://www.ukchatterbox.co.uk/forum/607
aberdeen is a bit expensive (oil money) so i think you've be very lucky to find an apartment for that money - sharing will prob. be alright
never used it but you could try looking at sites like this?
http://www.spareroom.co.uk
good luck and have a nice life :O)
try a website called 'this is north scotland'....
google the newspaper... aberdeen press and journal
or the evening edition is called
the evening express
look in the classifieds.
if you really struggle, you can try and get 'digs' (its basically a room in someones home, share the home normally with the family, you can negotiate an evening meal etc.,)
good luck
dyce is quite a bit from aberdeen if you have to depend on local busses etc., there is a train service, but only like 3 times a day from the city
Hi there.
My family and I are also moving to Aberdeen in the Summer. I have found that the best place to look for a property to rent/buy in the area is to hook up to ASPC, which is the Aberdeen Solicitors Property Centre. They seem to advertise abount 90% of the business on behalf of other estate agents/solicitors in the area.
My husband works in Dyce and places within easy reach of here are Kingswells, Westhills, Cults, Blackburn and the City itself, although the nearer you get to the centre, the more expensive it is.
Happy hunting and best wishes

Lot's of bowling lanes with good disabled facilities & shoe hire.
Bowling is fun for families but there are a lot of temptations for children to throw away their parents' money namely slot machines & video games. None required
From Gardenstown walk the 1km or so along the shingle beach to the neighbouring village of Crovie. The walk takes you in the lea of the towering cliffs, but is not to difficult.
Crovie must be one of the few mainland villages with no cars. Reason? - there is no road, only a narrow track seperates the houses from the sea
If you're having a party of any kind, try Little Italy, on Holburn Road.
This is the maddest restaurant I've ever been to! Although I didn't experience it the night I went there, it is well known for having waiters who dance on the tables!! It's always packed, so you usually have to book in advance, and it can be a bit too crowded, but for a party atmowphere, there's really no other place like it! Anything and everything!
I suggest you rent a car to move around coz there are so many place to venture and its easier to have your own vehicle. Get a map and plan your trip.......
There are so many places to go like taking a coastal ride and you'll see a beautiful view of the sea......There are lots of castle for you to visit and many more......
