When my host told me I'd be staying here I was highly sceptical (British Legion is the UK's ex servicemen's organisation, mostly known for having social clubs everywhere selling ultra cheap booze, and I'd never heard of one with accommodation).
It turned out to be fine. A basic room, but clean warm and comfortable. Shower room, tea/coffee in the room, TV (but only 3 channels).
Big cooked breakfast in the morning.
Unbeatable at the price!
I've stayed in luxury hotels all over the place (my next business trip after this one will see me in Le Meridien in Brussels) so it was a real culture shock.
Incredibly cheap - £27 per night for bed & breakfast (single room)!
