Craiglinnhe House: A lovely guest house near Ballachulish

We stayed here for two nights (the plan was to stay for one but it was too nice to leave!)

We just picked this out the Scottish tourist guide and had no idea what it would be like (we'd stayed in B&B, pubs and small hotels up to this point in our tour).

When we phoned to book they asked us whether salmon was ok for dinner, and that pre-dinner drinks were served at seven.

When we arrived we found the old mine owners house, set back against the hillside looking out over the water.

Inside the whole building had been wonderfully decorated and it felt more like staying in someone's house as a visitor than a paying guest.

The food was excellent, the host was lovely (chatty and friendly but not intrusive).

Unique Quality: Not your average B&B!

Restored carefully and very 'homely'

Great food and company.
