Unique Accommodations

We were very excited at the prospect of staying in a real Scottish castle. Unfortunately, this one did not quite meet our expectations. It was okay, but not great. On the positive side; it was unique, had very large rooms, a beautiful breakfast, nice bar, and even a complimentary ghost/history tour of the castle. On the negative side; the shower! The bathroom was large and clean, but the shower was terrible. The water pressure was non-existent. You had to stand under it for ten minutes to even feel like you were wet. To make matters worse, it was lukewarm. Actually, lukewarm is giving it too much credit. It was closer to cool. It's hard to start the day with a bad shower!

A Scottish Castle

Tulloch Castle is beautiful. It is an amazing place, not a huge castle, but big enough to have luxurious suites, a bar, dining hall, ballroom (which is used for all kinds of functions). The interior of the castle with its mahogany staircase gives off a feeling of warmth and comfort.

I had dinner in the bar, the atmosphere was great, the food superb!

Unique Quality: Tulloch Castle was built in the 12th Century so it is unique that it is still standing! There is also a ghost known as 'the Green Lady' who haunts the castle.

Great views looking down onto Dingwall. All rooms have tv's (cable television). The rooms are large, the bathrooms look very new. The staff were very friendly, service was impeccable.

Dingwall... well, Tulloch Castle really

Tulloch Castle is at the north end of Dingwall. The only reason I went to Dingwall was to stay at Tulloch Castle. I had seen it (and other castles) in a brochure at the travel agents and thought it would be great to spend a night in a castle (and only one night as that was all I could afford). Unfortunately the picture above is of the 'back' of the castle, I'll get a better pic up soon.

Tulloch castle, Dingwall

Has anyone visited Tulloch castle in Dingwall nr Inverness as I would like to get some opinions on the place before booking for my honeymoon. Thanks for any help

Congratulations on your pending nuptials.

I have not personally stayed at Tulloch, but I did take a tour and have sent 3 different sets of clients there (I'm a travel agent) and they all came back very happy.

Keep in mind that it is not a luxury castle such as Inverlochy Castle (www.inverlochycastlehotel.com), but the staff are wonderful, the rooms spotless and the place is full of atmosphere (including it's own ghost!).

It is very good value for the money. Since it is your honeymoon - splurge for one of the 4-poster suites!
