The Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel is quite special due to the ambience of the beautiful view and warm hospitality of the staff. The food is amazing and great choices each evening made us want to stay another night..The owner is charming and helpful as was all his staff.

Home made scones for morning coffee were fab...thank you Letterfinlay for a great and memorable weekend.

FANTASTIC!!!

Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel is truly a wonderful place. I went here with a friend to celebrate her birthday and a better choice could not have been made! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had a wonderful experience. I do not understand how anyone can leave a negative review. The staff could not be more welcoming and helpful and as for the food words cannot describe how delicious it was. The location is stunning and i only wished we could have stayed longer!!!

what a fantastic place!

I've recently returned from a weekend at Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel where I celebrated a friends fiftieth birthday. I can't recommend this Hotel highly enough, it was outstanding! The location is so beautiful, sitting on the Ospry sundeck you feel you're in another world. The food in the restaurant is of an extremely high standard and truly mouthwatering....the only problem is not having enough time to try everything on the menu!
The seven of us stayed in the five star house accomodation and each room had a balcony overlooking the loch, what a treat to wake up to! The staff were friendly and helpful...even tolerating our Irish folk singing in the lounge with good humour.
All in all a fantastic weekend!

a great weekend

Views [even on a wet Saturday!] were breathtaking, staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was fantastic. Golden eagle's appearance was the final touch to a great weekend away - thanks to all at the hotel for their hospitality and service.

Fabulous location, shame about the room

by TripAdvisor Member Tidyskatemum

Stayed for a couple of nights in late April. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with friendly staff and excellent food. Our room was at the side of the hotel, so we could see both he loch and the hill. The room itself was a bit disappointing - small bathroom with only a shower and no bath, pink(!) washbasin and toilet and I felt they could have done with investing in new towels and bedding. I thought it was overpriced. On the other hand it was spotlessly clean.

Meals are served in the bar overlooking the loch - must get incredibly busy in summer but very pleasant in April! Main curses are delicious, if a bit stingy on the veg and puddings are fab.

disappointing

the hotel's position is lovely and the building itself is nice but the owner is very rude and abrupt. we felt unwelcome which was very uncomfortable. the food was nice but the stay was marred by the rude owner. don't want to spend money here again.

This was our second visit to the letterfinlay and again we arrived by boat from the beutifull loch lochy and we were realy pleased that the staff remembered us from our last visit and they gave us the same 5 star treatment that we received before . Again the food was outstanding and service to match ! We were very impressed that the owners have moved the hotel up to 3 star standard since our last visit in 2007 and look forward to the new marina being built so that we can perhaps spend longer in this little slice of paridise !!

We will definately return for another visit!!

We stayed at Letterfinlay 29th and 30th of April 2009 and really had a good time at the lodge. We ate dinner there both nights and found the food great - veggies amazingly fresh.
Our room was clean and good size (room 6) it didnt have a view of the Loch but that didnt bother us as there is a large decking area with amazing views of loch and a great play to enjoy a sundowner. We enjoyed the pool table and the large lounge area in the evening. The owners and all staff were all really friendly and such a relaxed atmosphere.

We are hoping to return soon!

Big let down!

I had been looking at Letterfinaly as a surprise weekend away for my fiances 40th birthday and decided to book it. We stayed for one night, which was more than enough.
We arrived early at 1pm, we decided to enquire of our room was ready on the off chance, we were greeted by the extremley arrogant manager who said we were far to early but checked and said we were very lucky but it was.
Room was lovely nicely decorated but wee bit rough with parts of torn wall paper and scruffy paint work but very clean.
Our meal was lovely but again the manager put us off by rushing customers out of the dining room as soon as they were finished to make room for more, this is fair enough but he stood behind me and kept checking to see if i was finished my pudding! Just plain rude.
The size of the decking surprised me on all the photos it looks massive but in person it is much smaller. The rooms do not face the loch to get brilliant views of the beautiful scenary!
Overall the hotel was nice enough, the rest of the staff were great really friendly but that arrogant manager just let the place down completely, and be careful to check your bill i was charged for items i hadn't had been didnt check my bill so paid it!

Great Hotel the perfect Scottish Experience

by TripAdvisor Member RoscoeCA

We were in Scotland for a golf trip and stopped for the evening. The staff was super friendly and the food was excellent. The room was clean and tidy and we actually stayed an extra day and play a local golf course recommended by the manager. The course was excellent and he even arranged our tee time!
