The Felstead is a charming old Victorian B&B on the banks of the river Ness, across the river from the cathedral. There is parking available on the street (metered during the day) and parking behind the house. It is in fairly easy walking distance (about 15 minutes) from the center of town. As well, just a few doors down there is a restaurant, The Waterside, that has pretty good food. I had a high tea which was salmon, peas, boiled potatoes, and a tray of sweets for 8.95 pounds.
Ann Trump is a lovely hostess. She very graciously left a breakfast outside my door when she discovered I was leaving the next morning much earlier than the normal breakfast hours.
The Felstead is very neat and clean, and, very important to me - a non-smoking establishment. It is also on a quiet street.
