We made a booking two months in advance, for a two-night stay. Although their website stated the latest check-in time was 10:30pm there was a special request form in which we filled in our request for a late check in, as our flight only arrived in Edinburgh at 9:00pm and there was no way we could have made the lastest check-in time. We heard nothing from them by way of a reply, so a day before the flight we e-mailed them to confirm our special request. They then replied they could not acomodate our request.
We then called them to clarify and had to deal with the rudest staff member we have ever enountered in a B&B. He gave us a lecture, comparing his B&B to an airline flight's departure, saying we were the only ones to blame if we arrived late. Nevermind the fact that B&Bs easily have way more flexibility than an airline, he then proceeded to say "This conversation is over" before hanging up.
Thoughout the whole conversation his tone was rude and haughty, and this was overall the worst encounter we have had the displeasure of dealing with in Scotland's service industry.
We would sooner recommend you fellow travellers spend the night in your car than give these people your hard earned cash.
