This SYHA-sponsored hostel is a bit away from the town center but about a 10-15 minute walk from the train and bus stations. Special 3-bed rooms are available on request for families, but you must call the hostel to book them. We booked a family room for roughly GBP 60 per night. The room was a bit on the cramped side with a bunk bed and a single bed, but it was right next to the common bathroom which we only had to share with a few other rooms. The place has Wi-Fi (for a small fee), nice common areas, and a very good common kitchen area (a large Morrison's supermarket is about a 5-minute walk away). Breakfast is available for an extra cost (we tried it one morning because Minifrosch got to eat free), the meal was OK, but a bit on the institutional side and probably not worth it.
Unique Quality: - Clean hostel with family rooms available
- Internet and Wi-Fi available for a fee
- Large common kitchen and dining area
- Breakfast available for a fee
Directions: Turn left out of the train or bus station and head out of town on Millburn. Turn right at the sign for the hostel just past Morrison's. Hostel will be set in on your left.
Unique Quality: unfriendly, anti-social, rude, forgetful, incompetent staff. The only redeeming feature is that the hostel is clean. You will probably be ok if you are an individual or a small family otherwise please don't stay here !
Luxury stay in this hostel as the overnight on a tour of cotland by motorcycle.
Unique Quality: One of the best if not the best YH I have stayed at in thr UK
