Cobbled Streets of Edinburgh
by scotlandscotour
Edinburgh New Town - Often overshadowed by the Castle and Old Town. But don't miss out on this wonderful part of the city, with its amazing architecture, affluent living and cobbled streets. Heart stealing.
Cobbles: Delightful to look at and noisy as hell to drive on. Sounds like the tyres have melted and are sticking to the road! Inside the car it sounds like your car is falling apart. They are also slippery when wet, so bad for cyclists.
It is well worth combing a journey through New Town and its art shops, galleries and little nooks with a walk down to the Botanical Gardens - and Leith if you have the legs.
This street is in the New Town area, so expect to see lots of posh cars swooshing along.
For your info, notice also the traffic lights and yellow 'police' cones, restricting parking.
Parking is too expensive in Edinburgh, so park out of the centre down side streets and walk or bus in. Royal Botanical Gardens and delightful houses - a wonderful place to live, not like a city at all - this is the Quality of Life.
Edinburgh Tip

I was in Edinburgh on Sunday and Monday just past, and as usual, had a great time!
Edinburgh is a great place for meeting other travellers. Two of my friends (who are South Africans) and myself stepped out of a pub in Edinburgh and saw some people playing with a dog. One friend, who loves dogs, started to play with it also. As it turned out, they thought it was our dog, we thought it was their dog, and it wasn't actually either, the dog belonged to someone else entirely! Anyway, this got us all talking and as it turned out these people were australians, so we ended up going to another pub with them and had a great time! (I must admit, I felt a bit left out as I was the only person who came from Scotland - a tourist in my own country!!)

I think this is one unusual & exquisite design. What do you think?
No, I didn't buy this one. Bought a limited edition piece called 'Clairvoyant - Who knows what the future hold?' designed by Alastair MacIntosh.

You feel like a kid in a toystore
by Imaniac about Disney Store
In the new part of Edinburgh on Princess Street, there is an official Disney store. When you’re there it’s almost as if you are in Disneyland. There are lotsof toys and other items you can buy. But like in Disneyland, the prices are very high.
