More about Aaron Lodge

"Amazing" Aaron Lodge - Edinburgh

by TripAdvisor Member TravelbugsYorkshire

My friend and I have just returned from a fabulous short break in Edinburgh. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, but our stay, with Ted and Dot at the Aaron Lodge, made it extra special. The hotel is a very short journey from the centre of the city, connected by the excellent and regular bus service and it would be impossible to fault any aspect of the accommodation and facilities on offer.

I would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Edinburgh, whether it be for pleasure or business and will certainly be passing this information on to friends and family.

Great Place to Stay

by TripAdvisor Member puppiks

Very nice, clean and friendly place. Very convenient to travel to the city with frequent buses and the bus stop right outside the hotel. We stayed in family room and the rooms were as seen on the internet and kept to a good standard. Ted who's the owner of the place is a very nice person and the overall experience was superb. Would always recommend to others and go back again

Best B&B I Have Been to for Many Years

by TripAdvisor Member ICT-FAN

Ted & Dot were the perfect hosts. The room was very comfortable with great walk in shower and fantastic TV. Loved the conservatory.

Only a few hundred yards from the new Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Bus stop just outside the door with regular buses to city centre.

Glad to hear they are starting restuarant on premises in next few months.

Thoughts from Sydney Australia on Aaron Lodge

by TripAdvisor Member FirefighterH81

My wife and myself stayed at Aaron Lodge after spending 1.5 weeks in different B&B's in England & Scotland. We found the atmosphere & amenities to be above average. This can be especially said of the water in the showers. If you have travelled England & Scotland you will understand the comment about chasing the water drops for a shower. This is not the case here. The breakfast was good & plentiful. The hosts were very informative about the area. As a matter of fact there were four groups of people & the hosts sitting down having coffee at midnight. This is generally not heard of in Australia nor was is evident on our trip so far.
Overall we would recommend this establishment as family friendly.

The Best Shower in the UK!

by TripAdvisor Member aussiedreamer2

I cannot say enough about this wonderful lodge. Woh, what a great find. From the moment we arrived it was perfect. Free off street parking, beautiful room, great bed, lots of room and the best bathroom of our whole 5 week driving holiday.

Ted is quite the personality, recommended a great local pub and even drove us there. We were only going to stay one night, but extended to two because of the very comfortable and completely enjoyable surroundings. The sunroom is fantastic, you can get sick of being in the car or in a bedroom. Had our afternoon 'tipple' while watching the world go by. I promised Ted I would take the time to review the lodge and be assured I will be telling everyone I know that is going to Edinburgh that this 'is' the place to stay. Thanks again Ted.

Duffy's Delight

by TripAdvisor Member TrewSouthCoast

This is a must stay for someone wishing to visit Edinburgh. 5 star quality at a more than reasonable price.

The service that you recieve from Ted is matched only by his mum. The lodge is itself is unbelievable from the huge plasma tv in the beautifully appointed bedroom and to ultra modern bathroom to the conservatory and breakfast and bar areas downstairs.

Only 5 minutes from the city centre with buses stopping outside your door every 15 min and ample resident parking.

Thank you Ted & mum for the lovely stay

Something New and Lovely Aaron Lodge

by TripAdvisor Member 1royhobbs

In a land were everything beautiful is old, here is something beautiful that is new. Aaron Lodge is only 1.5 yrs old as of 6/08 and everything is bright and sparkling. Ist rate showers and plumbing are a delight. While single rooms are compact, Ted/owner and designer has been thoughtful in placement of lights, switches, TV etc so you can maximize space and relaxation. Aaron is a 10minute bus ride from the Royal Mile and just a touch more from the train station. Breakfast is premiere and served with joy and abundance. Wifi is on all the time with lounge and self help bar. Ted is welcoming and helpful in every way. . . the guy offered me a pair of his pant so I could go golfing! King Arthur will return and when he does he will stay here for not too many quid! Wonderful and clean.

Two words - STAY HERE!

by TripAdvisor Member Dailaffin

On departing any accommodation, usually your first thoughts are, "would I stay there again?" In my case the answer is most definitely a resounding "Yes". From Ted's initial welcome, his enthusiastic tour of facilities and the immaculate presentation of the rooms, showed that a great deal of thought and effort had been expended by the owners in establishing this business. Despite having an almost "show-home" appearance, the whole ambience is that of comfort. A generous breakfast, well imparted local knowledge and an incredible eagerness to help, led to my stay being nothing short of outstanding. The city is merely a 15 minute bus ride from a stop directly outside and ample car parking space allows you to forget about driving.

Couldn't wish for better.

Simply great

by TripAdvisor Member MaxNovoselsky

I had a great weekend stay at the guest house. The rooms are clean, large and very comfortable with great en-suite facilities. The breakfast is very good with a large selection of food and fresh juices to choose from. The owners Ted and Dot are very welcoming and giving every guest a special treatment. Though located somewhat distant from the city center the guest house is located on the main route to main city attraction with a bus stops at the house entrance. Ten minutes of bus driving (1.10 GPB per one use or 2.50 GPB a day) and you will arrive to the Royal Mile. Great value for money
