Bank Hotel
This is one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed in...granted I have only stayed in a four seasons hotel once....I digress...anyway, as the name suggests the building started off as a bank in the early 1920s and today houses a pub on the ground floor and nine rooms on the floors above.
Each of the rooms is named after a famous Scot such as James Watt or Robert Burns and decorated with pictures or examples of their work. I stayed in the Thomas Telford room, who as it seems, was a relatively important civil engineer in late 18th and early 19th century Scotland...a very cool room with a nice view over the Royal Mile...
Unique Quality: Did I mention there is a pub on the ground floor...which is perhaps the main reason I liked the Bank Hotel so much...
Besides the pub, the Bank Hotel is located right on the Royal Mile and a mere stone's throw from everything in central Edinburgh...

A Bit Different
Originally a bank and retaining that facade, the building is now a hotel that lies on the Royal Mile in the historic Old Town area of Edinburgh.
Unique Quality: A series of "Themed Rooms" that each celebrate a famous Scot, such as James Watt, Robert Burns, John Rennie Mackintosh and Robert Louis Stevenson.
Breakfast is included in the room price.

The Bank Hotel is a nice...
The Bank Hotel is a nice little hotel with only a few rooms. It comes with a public bar attatched which is nice to sit in and have a few pints when the rugby is on! All of the rooms are themed and en-suite, and it is not too expensive. The Bank Hotel is situated on the Royal Mile.
