Old but good
A reasonably priced and located hotel, uses a classical building but provides all the common facilities to its level of hotel. We had dinner there and also enjoyed the meal.

We booked last minute for a few days Oct half-term and were offered a room upgrade for a decent price with dinner thrown in one night. The room was big enough to have a dance in, great breakfast with a large choice, the staff looked after us marvelously. Dinner was most enjoyable, especially the whiskey menu. All the pubs aroundabout are aimed at students - we went in the bar down stairs - this is also aimed at students. As a musician, I was coming in around 2am every morning and had no problems parking.
We would certainly stop there again.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate Hogmanay.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and just far enough out of the city centre to ensure we suffered no noise pollution. The walk through the park to the city centre is a great one. We had a great time.

My sister and I have just reurned from a wonderful 2 night stay at this hotel. The room was booked with Alpharooms, we paid for a standard twin but were upgraded to a premier room which was large , clean and quiet. The city centre is within walking distance but we opted to use the local bus which came by every couple of minutes. The hotel is nicely furnished with a quiet lounge and a lively bar and restaurant. It is situated opposite a park in a lovely area so we were able to walk off the great breakfast. Edinburgh is a lovely city and I would definately recommend this hotel .
Excellent place to stay

We stayed here for two nights and had a great time. The room size was good and bed really comfy! The quality of the food was also really good, with both breakfast and dinner of a high standard. Staff very friendly and helpful. No complaints at all.

This is a superb hotel, situated in one of the best parts of Edinburgh, and with excellent comfort and service. The breakfasts are wonderfull!
