Beware Robbery

Having previously stayed at Cairn Hotel, Edinburgh I reccomended it to a Swedish visiting colleague. He stayed there on night of 19th November and in middle of night his watch and 150 pounds was stolen from his room - no forced entry!. Despite many calls to Cairn Hotel on his return to Sweden asking as to what was being done by them, with no reply from them. On contacting Edinburgh Police it appears they have no record of crime being reported as claimed by the hotel so seems they wish to sweep incident under the carpet.

Rooms not secure and staff not to be trusted make own conclusion.

The Cairn Hotel

Unique Quality: Very good service and nice people. The Hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk from the center of town and very near to the opera hall, where the Phantom of the Opera was performed when I was there in 1996
