Excellent B&B
This is an excellect B&B and I would highly recommend it. The owners Robin & Nicci have done an outstanding job with this establishment. You would be missing out if you didn't stay here while in Edinburgh.

The warm and friendly atmosphere of Emview made a wonderful shortstay in Edinburgh complete. Robin and Nici thought of everything to make our room cozy and comfortable, and they made us feel welcome the minute we stepped in the front door. We'll probably book a return stay in the near future, and will make sure to recommend Elmview to all of our friends as THE place to stay while on holiday in Edinburgh.
An extremely superior B&B. Tastefully decorated large room and bed, lots of little extras to make you feel welcome. Also very quiet considering you are so close to the centre of Edinburgh. Good choice and quality of food for breakfast. If there was a niggle it was that breakfast is served at a single large table - great for those who love to be sociable first thing - not so good for those of us who just tend to grunt before their morning caffeine hit!
We stayed in 14 B&B's during our month in Great Britain and Elmview was the best. The room and bathroom were both very large and comfortably furnished and had every amenity a traveler could desire. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with directions and ideas. We thought we knew our way around Edinburgh, but they made several suggestions that caused us to see things we would have otherwise missed. The breakfast was outstanding--be sure to have the porridge!
They offered a nice tea upon arrival and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and fun.
We can't wait to have an opportunity to return and stay longer. It is a temptation to keep the place a secret so they will have room for us in the future.
We have just returned from a tour of Scotland and spent two nights in Edinburgh, staying at Elmview. This was a perfect location from which to explore the city and yet it was surrounded by parkland and there were good restaurants nearby. Our hosts were extremely helpful and friendly, the accommodation was spotlessly clean and spacious and the breakfasts were imaginative and delicious. We were given detailed helpful information about the locality and an added bonus was the loan of golf clubs and balls to use the free facility of the pitch and putt course immediately opposite the house. All in all, an oasis of calm in the centre of the city.
The owner is very good at mingling his guests. We had a pleasant conversation with people from other countries every morning. Their meal is excellent. They can be proud of their cooking skill and beautiful tableware.
We and our adult children and our grandchild all thoroughly enjoyed the Elmview in Edinburgh. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and breakfast was great.
Elmview is convenient and we have no hesitation in recommending it.
The Elmview has to be the best bed-and-breakfast bargain in Edinburgh. When we arrived, we were helped, along with our luggage, into our attractive room. Then we were invited to talk about both the town and the Elmview while feasting over cucumber sandwiches, tea, and cake. The food remained a great treat, consisting of standard fare, excellent coffee, and local joys like finnian haddock, Scottish smoked salmon, and haggis--and there was plenty of it. The accommodations were superb: the bathroom was splendid, with plenty of hot water, lotions, shampoos, good water power, and a very useful towel warmer. The heat in the sleeping space came on quickly and set itself to a comfortable temperature, while we relaxed to some lovely sherry and biscuits.
All in all, a great place to come back to after a day of touring.
We were two couples travelling to Edinburgh for the first time. On arrival we were greeted and tea and sweets were ready. An informative overview of the city was given. The Elmview was conveniently located reasonably close to the Castle and the Golden Mile. We even played a wee bit of golf on the ancient but free little course directly across the street. The breakfasts were truly outstanding and that is where the most adventurous of us had our first taste of haggis.
We found the Elmview to be well located, spotlessly clean, great food, comfortable beds, attractive decor, wonderful hosts, and therefore good value.
We would love to return to the Elmview.
We enjoyed our stay at the Elmview. The owners are very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and the breakfast very good.
We were within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle.
