Had a brief overnight stay here. £52 all in (breakfast extra) for a double on a Friday night. Really was a steal! The city centre Holiday Inn Express was wanting £75, and its the cheaper brand.
Excellent room on 6th floor with magnificent view of the city & castle - sadly it was dark when I arrived and left, so I only got the night time version.
Because I'm a Priority Club member Holiday Inns always seem to give me a top floor room at the end of a corridor, so its nice and quiet.
I was up & away before breakfast, so can't comment there.
It's 2 miles from the city centre, but on a busy bus route and a taxi won't be much.
Already booked to go back next week - same price on a Wednesday, which surprised me.
UPDATE - 2nd experience just as good.
Unique Quality: Excellent value for money in a reliable brand.
Directions: About 2 miles n-w of the centre, on the road north towards the Forth Bridge etc.
You can take a #41 bus to/from the city center for £1.20 - you must have the correct change.
