Hike to the top of Arthur's seat. Its just outside the city, and the hike isn't too high at all. Once you've reached the top, you'll be blown away by the winds (literally - so be careful), and the view is spectacular as well. Take a tour of William Wallace's castle and experience the history of Braveheart.

Visit the Tourist office. It's really great and has lots of leaflets on Edinburgh and the area around it. It has a lovely shop full of interesting and good quality souvenirs. There are also lots of people to ask for information and there are even internet pcs!!! I'm not sure if the tourist office is technically on Princes Street but it looks like it is! It's on the opposite side to the shops. Trying to get my friend to understand vt and why I just had to get on those PCs..
Murrayfield Stadium

Rugby at Murrayfield, what an experience!!! Try and arrange a visit to Edinburgh from May to June, during the Six Nations, or during November, for the Autumn Tests, to experience something special.
When the Stadium is full at 67,500, the place is amazing. All these screaming Scots belting out 'Flower of Scotland', it gets the hairs on the back of your head going.
The first time I visited Murrayfield was in November 2001, for there Autumn Test against the All Blacks, it was great.
Last time I was there I abseiled into the Stadium as part of a Cancer Research fundraiser. That was spine-tingling!
Also got there in November of 2004 to see the mighty Wallabies get up (easily) over the struggling Scots.
Royal Burgh

Among the old buildings and the cobbled streets of this Royal Burgh on the River Forth you can relive the life of the 16th and 17th century. There is a refurbished palace and garden which date back to 1597. An exhibition and video in the Town house show something of the burgh’s 400 year history. It is a charming little place.

Traditional Folk Music
by Nemorino about Sandy Bell's
This is a very small pub where they play live folk music seven nights a week. Usually four or five musicians gather in the back to jam.
Admittedly I took this photo in the afternoon, not at night, but they were already playing music and drinking beer. I've been here several times, and there was always some kind of live music going on.
And it was always VERY crowded, so don't go if you are claustrophobic.
