My wife and myself had booked 2 nights here to visit the tattoo, we were given a warm welcome, from the host, who also provides a reasonable breakfast. but unfortuanetly that is where it stops. On being shown the room, there was dirty laundry outside the bedroom, on entering the bedroom, it was very small, about 2 metres wide, with the bed stuck in the middle of the room. On further inspection of the room it was not clean, although the bedding was despite having holes in the sheet, the mattress was very uncomfortable, the nights sleep was ruined by feeling every spring, perhaps with the possibility of bugs in the bed, as we did itch all night as well. The bathroom was filthy, with mould around the shower, bath and sink, the bath actually had a hole in it, the toilet seat was loose and felt unsafe when sat on, I could not just pluck up courage to have a bath or shower during my stay. Further to that there was no privacy in the bathroom, apart from closing some wooden shutters. Never mind we sat on the old worn out chairs in the room, whoops one collapsed, tried to watch the TV, but could not get that to work. The price we paid for this room, I thought was disgusting at £79 per night, therefore would NEVER consider staying here agai
Along Pilrig street, good B&Bs can be found!
Personally i recommend 'Glenburn Guest House'
18 pound per person in the summer!!!
