Bergen-Lerwick
"Arriving Lerwick"
I arrive Lerwick at the time 0530. The day was very foogy. I was very hungry after one night on the ferry from Bergen i Norway since I did not have an acceptable paying card, I had only Visa Elektron. Walking in the small city in this early morning trying find a bakery was in a way very nice, it was silent expekt for the birds. At last the Lerwick hotel open and I could have a expensive breakfast.
Lerwick is UK most north city. A small city with warm atmosphere and intresting history.
During 800 a.c, the Vikings start to enter the islands.
Ferry goes to Bergen in Norway, Kirkwall and Aberdeen.
"Staying at Scalloway hotel"
After breakfast I took the lokal bus to Scalloway and Scalloway hotel where I had an reservation. The hotel staff whee varm an nice, the hotel clean, and if you where lucky and have a room on the right side you have a very nice view of the harbour.
"Scalloway"
Scalloway is a small village abaut 20 kilometer from Lerwick. During the great war the norwegian resistens took headquarter here and there was a lot of trafik over the atlantic to Norway with small fishing boats with refugees and resistenspeople and of course supply.
There is a small museum in Scalloway telling the Norwegian war story and the help Shetland people gave to the resistens.
