If you get yourself to George Square, then you are right in the centre of Glasgow and can get almost anywhere from there. The tourist information centre is located here. The big red open top tour bus leaves from here (about gbp6) and Queen Street train station is here. All the local buses are within walking distance too.

Hampden Park
by vichatherly
This is Scotland’s national football stadium. It is the home of Queen's Park F.C., the 'grandfathers' of Scottish Football.
Hampden Park seated capacity is 52,000.
We took a guided tour around the stadium and visited the fine museum one morning. This was an excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide. We went around the changing rooms and warm up areas, including a go at taking the fastest penalty. Then it was up to pitch side to take in the view. We followed this by taking a look around the great museum which has some interesting items. Well worth the visit.

I love skiing and although there are only dry slopes in Glasgow, the mountains and real snow are only a few hours away. Glencoe is the nearest to Glasgow, its about 1 1/2 hours away. Check out www.ski.visitscotland.com for more info on all the ski resorts in Scotland or contact me for more info on them. Can't wait till the snow comes back!!!!
The Horseshoe Bar
by Eric1977 about The Horseshoe Bar
My favourite pub in Glasgow, great beer and anexcellent pub to just sit and have a yap with your mates. I always like to start the evening here, before heading onwards to any of the excellent city centre clubs. Plus there is some great live music. None that I'm aware of, I base that i spent an evening there in overalls because i couldn't be arsed to go home and get changed after work.
