Great accomodation, especially when studing
by TripAdvisor Member kanulondon
I came across the hotel when searching for cheap accommodation for a course I had booked in Glasgow. Looking at the reviews the accommodation seemed to be well regarded and the most important factors being cleanliness and price.
I can confirm that the Hotel was truly excellent on both fronts. My room was basic but very clean, and was cleaned every day. And for the price £32 GBP, the room was an absolute bargain.
It's all about function over form, on first entry the room may seem a little weird, but after a few hours I settled down nicely. The room was conducive for 2 - 3 hours of studying a night as well, with a cute little corner table. All in all I am very happy with the hotel, and would recommend.
great place for the price

3 of us arrived here on friday 1st aug for a 2 night stay. we arrived at 10.30 and were promptly checked into our room. we were'nt expecting the hilton and its a good job because the rooms are very basic and small but spotlessly clean so at £32.00 gbp per night we were'nt too bothered. there's plenty to do in the surrounding complex such as bowling, cinema casino and plenty of restaurant's. if your like your bottle of beer the bowling alley have a special 3 bottles of coors light for £5.00 now thats a bargain.. i have to give a big shout out to karen the girl that looked after security for the hotel. what a gem of a girl nothing was too much trouble for this lady, she was so obliging and helpful definately an asset to the hotel so c'mon hotel management give that lady a big payrise. also a mention to (hi-tec) on the front desk (thats not his real name but if he's reading this he'll know i mean him) he is such a nice guy and so pleasent and like karen nothing was too much trouble for him.. all the staff in general were fab but karen and hi-tec made our stay all the more enjoyable.. so if your not to fussy about state of the art fixtures and fittings and your on a tight budget id recommend the etap hotel for a couple of nights stay
Clean, cheap and cheerful, fantatsic budget accomodation

I booked a two night stay at the etap in March 2008 and could not have been more pleased. If you are looking for budget accomodation that is very clean and convenient this is the place for you. The room was £30 per night and could sleep three. I was traveling alone and price was the major factor in me booking this hotel. The shower was powerful it was great.
The hotel is in a complex that has a number of restaurants, casino, cinema and bowling. It is about 15/20 minute walk to Glasgow centre but a cab was only £3. If I am in Glasgow for a budget trip again I will definitely stay in the etap. When I am going away now I always check etap to see if they have a hotel in the country I am visiting.
Very good place for very small money

The price can't be better in Glasgow. Hotel is really VERY clean, rooms are big - sure, basic, but it is TV, it is corner table, lot of space to sit, read... Compact-bathroom is funny but works very well. Just be sure that you have enough towels. We got 1 big and 1 very small, hands-one... by accident. But reception desk quickly will provide more for you.
Breakfast is very basic but you may eat as much as you want... even if next time I would maybe prefer to go for real Scottish breakfast to any cafe on my way to the city :)
It is 20 minutes walk from the centre, new bridge was built when we were there, it should work already I suppose? With this extra bridge walking around will be even simpler.
Internet in reception/ bar area, one has to pay but still it is nice to sit and work there if you need to.
Machines sell coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sandwiches etc. for 24 hours daily.
If you have limited budget, go there.
Just if you go with friend/ mother etc., be conscious that you get one big bed (plus one up, like bunk bed) instead of 2 singles. I travelled with my mother and it was little bit uncomfortable.
If you aren't from UK, don't forget to buy plug-adapter, otherwise you will not use your notebook or other electronic devices ;)
Cheap, cheerful and free car park
by TripAdvisor Member SirGoofy
The hotel is located in a shopping park which is away from the city centre. I drove to the city centre which is around 5 minutes drive.
The rooms are clean and the price is extremely reasonable. Overall my family and I enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Free car park is an added bonus! Will stay there again!
great value

I was a little dubious booking this hotel as it was only £32 for the night but i was delighted when i arrived in the room - lovely and clean, ensuite and not too small.
The hotel is very handy for the city centre and has decent places to eat in the near vicinity - i would now struggle to look past this place if i was looking for accomodation in glasgow.

Right in the centre of a retail park this hotel is on the top floors of a multi storey car park.
The area is a little tatty but the hotel was fine. Inexpensive and ticked the boxes for a weekend shopping in Glasgow.
