2nd time we have stayed at Mar Hall, we had booked a Junior Suite for an Anniversary, the room was amazing with fantastic views over the hills and water, the package had Champagne and chocolates, so we had a very romantic time.
Dinner in the evening was faultless, the staff are exceptional,
Had a full body massage before departure.
The Manager Mrs Montgomerie was at the reception on departure, we told her how good the staff and facilities were, we have nothing but praise for her.

Splendid Scottish hotel

I booked my stay with the hotel directly as I had some specific requirements - we were using this hotel as our base for a day trip out to one of the Islands. Prior to arriving it was very easy to communicate with the hotel and they were able to arrange some special requirements for me with no fuss and this was very good.
I arrived for my 2 night stay and was greeted by a porter who took our bags. Once checked in we went to our room. We had booked a suite and it was very nice, large bedroom with LCD TV, XBOX360 and DVD player. It also had a seating area with a couple of good size sofas. There was also a good size sitting room with its own TV and desk with fax etc. Bathroom was very large and had his and hers sinks, large bath and shower and came with a selection of shower gel etc. Was very happy with the room and it was very clean and tidy and prepared to a good standard.
We had 2 comfortable nights at the hotel, no problems at all. Breakfast was good on both days, first day I had kippers that were very nice and second day I had the full breakfast which was also good quality and well made. We had dinner in the hotel, which was very good - portions were good size and there was a good range on the menu. I am not really into gourmet food so I sometimes find it a struggle to eat at places like this but it was a good menu even for me. Cost was approx £70 excluding wine which is not bad at all.
Overall this hotel was very good, pleasant atmosphere and well appointed. Staff were always friendly and chatty but not over the top which was nice. I look forward to visiting Mar Hall again, we did not really get to use the Spa as our day trip took most of our time so I think we will come back to try the Spa maybe early next year. Thanks to the hotel staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
Lovely hotel in the country

We stayed for 2 nights in an upgraded suite in the main house. The staff was fantastic, great service from everyone we encountered. Jeanette's team is wonderful. We had dinner in the hotel which was fabulous and ate breakfast and lunch as well. We also visited the Fox and Hounds pub about 10 mins away. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the accomodations are world class. Did not visit the spa due to time constraints but did walk most of the grounds. Truly a beautiful hotel, would stay again in a second.

Recently returned from a three night stay in a delux room
at Mar and can honestly say we had a great time.
we ate in the restaurant on 2 nights and enjoyed the meal on both occasions in fact we had a party of 5 both nights and there were no complaints
The wine list was very reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel
and when we asked for recommendations both wines on each night were under £30 and superb
The whole experience is not a cheap one but the level of service and the excellent staff reminded me of One devonshire
about 12 years ago before it started its decline to normality.
the hotel and grounds are lovely and the housekeeping is first class
I had a 45min massage in the Aveda spa which was also first rate.
Go try-Order some champagne sit in the garden and if your lucky and its quiet you can pretend its all yours.

Stayed on a business trip so sadly didn't experience leisure centre...everything looked superb in the short time that I could sample the hotel's attractions..

Expensive but only 15 mins max from Airport..
