Day Spas

by toontown

Hi there,

Does anyone know of a great day spa in Glasgow where a girl could get a lovely massage and pedicure?

Thanks,

There are quite a few in the yellow pages, all the large hotels have health centres. For example the Living Well club is in St Vincent Street in the city centre. (0141 248 9788). See www.livingwell.com
There are plenty more....and relax.:-)

There are two I would recommend. Revive at Green's gym and Richardson Murray on Great Western Road.

Travel Tips for Glasgow

Since we had limited time in...

by marzz3

Since we had limited time in Glasgow, we took one of those tourist bus tour things. It was a pretty good way to get an idea of what the city looks like and where things are located....especially if you are short on time!

Packing List

by porche911

You are only an hour away from some of the finest walking areas, for example Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond so be sure to bring suitable boots/shoes, a warm jacket and a waterproof, even in summer. Don't even attempt it in winter. You are also only 30 minutes away from beaches but we don't get particularly warm summers although we can get some very hot days. If venturing into the countryside in summer/autumn you must take a midge repellant, Deet or similar

Glasgow University

by mariocibelli

It is a beautiful walk through the very steep at times Kelingrove Park. The main unversity buidling dominates all from it's hilltop perch. It is home to the Hunterian Museum as well as the Makintosh House.

A NEW SHOPPING CENTRE IN THE CITY

by Hosell about St Enoch Centre

Student Meatmarket

by cadja about The Garage

When I lived in Glasgow I heard a common joke about The Garage: "If you have a driving license you won't come in. You're too old."

"All" students go there, and being a student in Scotland means 17-20 years of age. So it's perfect for teen-travellers.

They play the usual chart music, the guests get incredibly pissed and the odds for being hit on is - money back.

I was only there once (being 10 years older than most in there I felt a bit lost) but for younger people looking for a partner (for the night/for a snog/for a dance) it's supposed to be alright.

Funny enough, "everyone" talked badly about the place but "everyone" went there.... hm. Ironically?
Boys - whatever t-shirt you can find and a pair of jeans.
Girls - the less the better... (it seems)
