The Thistle Glasgow is centrally located and one block from Sauchiehall Street (pronounced Saki-hall) which is one of the main shopping drags. In addition, Sauchiehall is a pedestrian only street that creates an environment with little to no traffic noise (ie. honking, accidents, general car noises) and a bustling location to sightsee around.
There is a movie theater on the corner of Renfrew and Hope Street (about 3 blocks from the Thistle) that has the BEST candy selection I've ever seen in a movie theater.
The Scottish Claymores (NFL Europe Team) was staying at the Thistle at the same time I was. If it's good enough for the NFL...it's good enough for me!
