Hi Jorge, take a look at http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel/hotel_id/209/GlasgowCentral
You will see it's slightly closer to the bus station, Darren.
Happy Xmas.

Yes - as previous poster said, the bus station is slightly closer. If you arrive in Central Station, then the walk is slightly uphill, whereas from the bus station it is more or less on one level. Of course, for departing from Central Station, the walk is downhill!

Travel Tips for Glasgow

If you require information...

by willbur

If you require information please contact me and I will be happy to assit in any way I can.
I am a retired poilce officer (now with some time on my hands) and have a good knowledge of the City and the West of Scotland, having travelled to most areas.
Of course my knowledge is commensurate with my age but I have a Son (also a cop) who works the City Centre. The ordinary Glaswegian. The vast majority of the population are outgoing, friendly and in the main honest, although like every other large City we have our share of 'bad apples.'
The Glaswegians love people to visit their City and will go out of their way to make them welcome.

This was a march happened on...

by JUNLI

This was a march happened on 27th-May-2001. So far, I am still not quite sure what did this march for? Maybe they're going to memorize some strikers, or something else.

Anyway, it seems too hard for a foreign tourist to understand them. :-)

Thanks for the help from VT frind - Grahamt:
The marchers were commemorating Irish Republican Army hunger strikers – there is a religious divide between Catholic and Protestant in Glasgow and some people do show support or one side or other in the Irish troubles.

Glengoyne Distillery

If you plan to travel from Glasgow to Loch Lomond then consider taking the A81 via Killearn. On the road you can visit the small an beautiful distillery GLENGOYNE.
They arrange tours, there is a shop and you can taste some of the products. Be sure to choose at designated driver first!
