Budget Accomodations

Nice rooms close to town ...only a few minutes walk. The rooms are set up with two sets of bunks with showers and toilets down the hall.

The youth hostels in Scotland are not just for the young. Most of the people are over 30 and a lot of them over 50.

This is a cheap way to travel and well worth the sterling 12.50. You can also rent the entire hostel out February through March and October through January. Some of the dates for the entire hostel are single nights and some are for 4 and 5 days at the same rate....watch this closely. You will be provided with bedding but you may want to bring your own towels. They ran short when I was there.

Unique Quality: With a members kitchen (membership to the youth hostel association is 6pound per year) it is easy to make your own meals and save money. There are no large local groceries so, I recommend that you prepare for your stay with staples in advance but there is a local store a few blocks away but it closes fairly early...(around 5).
