For all those golfers
For anyone who enjoys their golf then Prestwick and the county of Ayrshire within which it sits is the place to come. Ayrshire is a relatively flat county and is punctuated throughout with golf courses, including Royal Troon and Turnberry, which will be hosting The Open this year. I'm not sure how many courses there are in total but there must be between 30 and 50, as most of the towns have two large courses (usually one 'posh' one and one for the rif raf). The Open course in Prestwick is supposedly the place where open golf first began.
