Their bagpipes were one of the highlights for me and it was always great to have that great bagpipe music as a steady backgroundmusic during the competitions !

The Angus glens are known for their beautiful views. From Clova, there is a good afternoon walk with some great views of the glen. Good shoes are a must, and be prepared for some moderately steep climbs along the paths.
Visit the lovely Queen's View - great places around it for a picnic or walking. It is near Pitlochry. While there Pitlochry is also worth a short visit, there a several good places to eat or have a coffee. It is a tourist centre so it can get very busy though.
The parking area is private property and there is a pound parking fee for a day ticket.
Dundee has some great examples of all periods of architecture. Dundee High School (pic) is where William Wallace was educated. I lived in Dundee from the ages of 3 - 8 and have visited in '99, '02, '05 & '06.
Dundee was built around the foot of an extinct volcano "The Law" (which you can easily drive up for spectacular panoramic views) and was originally a gated walled city. Many of the town centre street names retain the 'gate' names, such as the Overgate, Nethergate, Seagate, etc.
The major reason for us visiting Dundee in '06 was to launch my mother's first novel "West Lights". It is a tragic romance set in 19th Century Dundee and area. Events in the book transpire around the true-life collapse of the Tay Rail Bridge in December, 1879. (more info on the book www.WestLightsTheNovel.com)
This is a picture of the reception room we used at the Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre. It was a great central location with views of the river and the rail bridge. Staff were very helpful and catering was pretty responsive.
All views in Scotland are spectacular. The green is real !!!!
it's better to give 2 weeks to Scotland, rather than do shopping in London. that's of course if you like to travel and see the more you can.
If you can't go to New-Zeland now, scotland is the closest thing to it in europe.
