I guess Fishers hotels main strength is its location. Being in the center of town gives guests easy access to all shops, restaurants and other attractions. This being said, it is still a reasonably classy hotel.
Being part of the British-trust hotel group, Fishers caters mainly for coach tours.
Unique Quality: Room service, TVs, En-suite bathrooms, fireplaces (an absolute must), & disabled access. The food is generally pretty good as well.

after reading trip advisor we were dreading staying at this hotel, we were there last week with crusader coach tours, and it really wasn't that bad. If you want 5star hotels you wouldnt stay there
but it really wasnt as bad as painted. if you stay in an old hotel you expect creaky floorboards etc. the evening meals were brilliant and the staff although obviously very busy were never rude and always did their level best to help with any problems
the fact that the railway station was almost in the garden had no effect on our holiday at all, we were in a room overlooking it and almost never heard a train. There were 34 of us on the coach plus the driver and I really dont think any one us had any serious complaints. full marks
We stayed 2 nights in Pitlochry at the beginning of November. Weather was quite cold, but sunny. My husband doesn't like B&Bs, but I really wish we had stayed in one instead of Fisher's. Aside from the carpet stains, rubbish under the beds, 3am fire alarm, and shower not working, it was fine. Staff was quite friendly and accomodating, and location can't be beat. BUT, having been there and seen all the gorgeous B&Bs scattered all over town, I think we could have shared in a more homey Scotland experience rather than just another budget hotel.
Cost approx £100 for a double room with evening meal for one night.
For this we had a room that was sparsly furnished with second rate furniture. The carpet had seen better days and the bedspread was thread bare. The bathroom was dated and not up to standard. The windows were so dirty that they were opaque. The meals were average. Apart from the reception area this place is in need of a good revamp. For the money I paid, this was a disgrace. I've stopped in far superior B & B's and would not recomend this place to anyone. Indeed, after this experience I have vowed never to stop in another SWALLOW hotel.
We spent three nights at Fisher's over the New Year period and would thoroughly recommend it. The food was excellent, the Staff efficient, helpful and courteous and the entertainment was just right for the occasion. The bedrooms were very comfortable and although in need of a little T.L.C., spotlessly clean. All in all, an extremely pleasant short break.

Have just returned from a one night stay here. Booked through Easy Breaks. I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews of Fishers but we had a great time. I had booked a family celebration so we had 6 rooms in all. All were comfortable and clean. We had a very spacious family room with 3 beds! The hotel is a well established institution in Pitlochry - It is also one of the oldest. The public rooms have all been refurbished though and were great. We were lucky to have a band playing after dinner and so enjoyed a dance too! Then we all sat in 'the snug' - had it all to ourselves even though the hotel was fully booked. (They were all still dancing!) So we had the best of both worlds. Evening meal was good and breakfast was lovely - good selection of hot and cold items that were constantly refreshed. Staff were very helpful and curteous (especially lovely man on reception - didn't get his name unfortunately) He upgraded our special guest's room and put a bottle of fizz in, compliments of the hotel. Much appreciated. This is NOT a five star venue but such good value for money and we had no complaints. People who complain about wallpaper and carpets should get a life and book five star hotels! You can't expect luxury for budget prices - I think that £116 for a family of 4 to have dinner, bed and breakfast is fantastic value! Get along to this hotel and enjoy some good Scottish hospitality!
I looked at this hotel and then read the reviews on TripAdvisor. Some of them were dreadful and I was a bit hesitant about booking but went ahead.
I am so glad I did. This was one of the most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed in. The food was lovely and plentiful. The staff were friendly and efficient. The Dining Room was run professionally and I had no complaints whatsoever.
It is clear to see that this hotel is well managed. The Manager, Mr Wilson, was always available throughout my 4-night stay. He was never "in your face" but just quietly overseeing everything. He had faith in his staff and they obviously acknowledged this with their hard work.
I will definitely be recommending this hotel to all my friends and without a doubt will be booking up to return at some point in the near future.
As well as the good value at the hotel, the Scottish Citylink Bus service actually drops off at the door. Local buses also run a very good service to Blair Atholl, Kinloch Rannoch, Queen's View, Perth, Dunkeld and Aberfeldy.
Altogether and excellent holiday in this charming town.
We stayed at Fisher's between 12 - 14th April. This was our fourth or fifth time, each one being better than the last. The location is central with the train station less than a minute's walk from the rear of the hotel, next to the pleasant gardens. Having read some reviews, prior to and since our stays, I can only say that some snobbery was evident in those reviews but you get this with certain people who want more for nothing in return. The hotel retains its olde-world charm without the glass and marble surrounds or the hectic music. The rooms we have stayed in have been excellent, albeit a wee bit dated but very roomy and comfortable. As we were outdoors often, enjoying the pleasant, picturesque and safe environment, we didn't have an evening meal in the hotel but the breakfasts were huge, tasty and well presented by attentive and well-mannered young staff. We have seen quite an improvement overall over the last couple of visits but were happy with what we already had experienced. It was very noticeable that several staff members were not averse to multi-tasking, from front desk to restaurant - a great learning curve - where they would have even more contact with residents and hone their skills of being "people-persons"... Our thanks to the manager and his team (including chefs) for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Like Arnie, I'll be back.........
I spent about 2 1/2 months working in Pitlochry at the beginning of 1999, at Fishers Hotel. This is a genuine tourist town if ever i have seen one! Nestled in the highlands between Perth & Inverness, it has the perfect location.
Although the town is not all that big, there are quite a few attractions in the area, starting with my favourite: Hiking. At least 7 marked routes are offered, ranging from 1/2 an hour long, to one that took me a whole day. Other attractions include:
Edradour distillery
Moulin brewery
Trout Ladder
Shopping
Camping
Restaurants
