Gem of Perthshire
by lou31
I think the thing that stood out for me was the lovely countrside around the town. There was always somewhere new to explore. From the delightful scenic walk I took to Dunfallandy to the more challenging ones up into the forrests. All my photos show the true colour and atmosphere of the countryside. I haven't touched them up in any way.
I visited in the Spring when everything was so green! I stayed for 3 days and have some wonderful memories. One of my special memories is of the nice old farmer who stopped one morning whileI was walking at Dunfallandy. I was making my way back and he offered me a lift which at the time a blessing. A light rain was falling and I was eager for my hot breakfast. He was a real character and we chatted away throughout the short drive.
Another memory is the georgous countryside found up near Moulin. It had everything...green fields, winding roads, those cute little styles, great views and I even came across a deer!
The forests were different again. Quiet, mysterious and they had that enchanted look about them!
Croft Moraig Stone Circles
by LaineBelle
This megalithic site has a double stone circle and is located above Loch Tay, although you can't see the river from this site. Construction began 5,000 years ago and is thought to have been used for about 1,000 years. It was excavated in 1965 and there is a marker with information about the site and the excavation.
I almost missed visiting this wonderful site because of the sign posted in the driveway about no parking. As I pondered whether to risk parking there, a nice woman came out of the house there and assured me I could indeed visit the site and pointed out the gate to me.
Falls of Bruar
by lou31
If you get to the House of Bruar don't leave without going to the Falls. Out behind the shops there is a walk that takes you up to the them. A forest walk which is very beautiful. You will eventually reach some old stone bridges which give you lovely views down the river and of the falls themselves.
Be careful coming down. If it's wet or been raining it can get very slippery.
My favourite shots of the countryside

"The road to Dunfallandy"
This road is full of surprises. Green fields, winding roads and clipped hedges.
"My highland cow"
While I was walking down from the forests I came across this Scottish beast. I had been wanting to get a close up of a highland cow throughout my holiday and had almost given up the quest.
Anyway I just wandered off the road a bit and it was just there looking at me in this classic pose. Almost waiting for me to come along and discover it. Well I couldn't get my camera out quick enough and clicked madly away!
"Easter Dunfallandy House."
This shot is of a B&B found in Dunfallandy. I just loved the look of the house with the field infront and the forests behind.
"The farmland"
This shot had it all...green fields, cattle grazing, autumn like trees, forests in the distance and even an old castle ruin.
