Antelope Hotel: 18th Century Coaching Inn

The Antelope Hotel is listed eighteenth-century coaching inn located in the Abbey town of Sherborne. Comfortable and well run, the Antelope is the ideal base for that Getaway Break or for those considering a longer stay while exploring Somerset and Thomas Hardy's Dorset.

Sherborne Hotel: Popular Place

Built of red brick in 1969, this two-story hotel lies near a school and a scattering of factories and houses. Though popular with business travelers, it's more elegant than a typical roadside hotel, with more amenities than may be expected and easy access to Sherborne's historic center. Attracting both business travelers and visitors, the hotel gets high marks for quality. Its bedrooms, small to medium in size, are too functional to be the most glamorous in the area. Eleven of the rooms are spacious enough for small families. The small bathrooms are tidily kept, each with shower-tub combination.

Eastbury Hotel: Close to everything

This Georgian town-house hotel, Sherborne's best, is situated in its own walled garden near the 8th-century abbey and the two castles. Built in 1740 during the reign of George II, it has a traditional ambience, with its own library of antiquarian books. Beautifully restored, it retains its 18th-century character. Bedrooms are named after flowers and are handsomely maintained and decorated. Rooms are small to medium in size, bright and inviting, and furnished in a traditional way, often graced with fresh flowers. The shower-tub combination bathrooms are tidily maintained with shelf space and robes. After a restful night's sleep, you can sit outside and enjoy the well-kept garden.
