An old new town...

I guess this church is the main, and only, landmark of the town...
...unless the huge Tesco supermarket (open 24/24) deserves that title?
Besides the station, the town centre is made of a couple pedestrian shopping street! ...completely deserted after 5pm!!
The main attraction seems to be the "leisure park". A cinema complex surrounded by a couple of chain restaurants... so exciting!
Thanks god, High Street seems to be what's left of the previous town, a traditional street with a couple of decent restaurants...

Stevenage is not the dream-town. It is a new town, without the real old british "cachet", touch.
However this is a medium town where you find anything you need. This is as well only 25 minutes from London by train up north, and 40 minutes south of Cambridge.
Stevenage by night.. is... average, or I could say "crap"!!!!
Loads of teenagers running around very drunk, many girls in mini squirts and mini tee-shirt with 5 degre c outside!! Altough it seems to be like that in the whole country ;)
10 minutes away from Stevenage you'll find Hitchin, which is lovely. Hitchin has many boutiques and cafe and get a better nightlife.
