Castle Bay caravan Park: Views Over The Irish Sea

When we camped here the site was pretty quiet for summer but it did fill up at the weekends.
Enjoyed the vast openness of the site with views across the sea to Ireland.
Toilet and shower facilities were o.k.. There is a shop, laundry facilities, washing machines, dish washing and freeze block freezing.
There is also a children's play area.
There is a 12acre static site and 10acre touring site, with electric hook-ups.

We have camped here twice and on another occassion, we hired one of the statics.

Unique Quality: The most wonderful facility was the outstanding situation of the touring site, looking over the sea to Ireland. Watching the Irish lighthouses flashing was quite a spectacle.
There was also access to Dunsky Castle, just over a stile on the cliff top, and a pleasant cliff-top walk to Portpatrick.

Although there is no beach here, there is access from the site to a coastal footpath. A popular spot for fishing is from the rocks along here.

Muldaddie Farm House: Superbly Located Certificated Site

We stayed on this Caravan Club CL. for four nights in 2005. It is a very well maintained little site, about 1/4 of an acre of gentle slope (not hard to get level). Most pitches require levelling chocks.

It has electric points, w.c. shower and H&C water.

Unique Quality: The position, above Port Logan harbour, gave wonderful views down and around the bay. You could watch the lighthouses in Ireland at night-time.
Price: £7 per unit per night incl. electric. This was a little more than we pay on other CL's we visit but was well worth it . Excellent facilities.

Just below the site is Port Logan harbour where you can launch boats from. Continuing northwards, away from the harbour, is a long expanse of beautiful sandy beach.South of the harbour is a track where folks go fishing from the rocks.

2010 price: £10.

Mid Float Farm: Quiet Little Certificated Location

This is a quiet little site, away from any main roads and is approx. .25 of an acre. It has a WC and hot water, which were in a port-a-cabin on our last two stays. Also has electric hook ups.

We enjoyed our stay here, making friends with the owners, although I know the place has changed hands since then. From the site, it's a short drive to the lovely bay at Ardwell, on the west coast and a little further to Port Logan.

Unique Quality: Unfortunately I don't seem to have any photos from our stays here.

£8 a night.
