Good for functions
I have never actually stayed here but friends have. They felt it a bit pricey for what it was as it is in a small town, but were quite satisfied with the rooms and service offered.
However, I have attended several weddings held in it, and eaten here too.
The building itself is quite old, and was refashioned in a flamboyant French Gothic style by the Maitland architect family in 1872
Unique Quality: The rooms are newly refurbished and have free internet connection, ensuite bathrooms with hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV, radio and alarm clock, and direct dial telephone.
The hotel has an excellent experienced chef who has worked in top restaurants.
Weddings can be catered for for up to 70 people. I have experienced such occasions and the food and service were good.
