Travelodge: Next to the bus and underground stations

As I write this, the Travelodge is still being built - it is conveniently located in the toiwn centre and seems to be a fairly good standard Travelodge. It is due to open in August 2008!

Unique Quality: town centre location, next to bus and underground stations.

Crowne Plaza: The London Heathrow

This was a one night stay over as part of a work event, which was lasting for an evening and a day. We were split between the Crowne Plaza and the nearby Holiday Inn. This was a rather late arrival for us, some time around 23.00. Most people went to bed and some visited the bar.

I was upgraded and had Club Room; but decided to have breakfast downstairs. This cost 17.50 and sadly was very disappointing albeit the staff were very professional.

By the way.....a Mars bar costs £1.65 from the minibar!

Unique Quality: The hotel is close to Heathrow Airport and offers a shuttle bus service to terminals 1, 2 and 3. There are some 458 en suite rooms and 80 Crowne Plaza Club rooms - with of course the Crowne Plaza Club Lounge.

There are three dining areas the Concha Bar and Grill, Simply Nico and Dr O'Driscolls and their room service is available 24 hours. In addition to eating, there is a sports facility - swimming pool, sauna, plunge pool, children's pool solarium and gym. Then they have a 9 hole golf course.

They also have a conference centre for up to 200 delegates, and the usual wedding and banquet suites.

Radisson Edwardian Hotel Heathrow Airport: Airport Hotel 5 Star affordable luxury

This wonderful hotel is just minutes from Heathrow International airport. Its luxurious and clearly geared towards the business traveller.
The upper meeting area is very beautiful and has an exclusive VIP feel to it.

Unique Quality: Large Rooms and very competitive rates. Fitness Centre and High Speed Internet. If you find a rate lower on another website for the exact same date and room then Radisson will match the rate and offer a futher 25% discount!
A large car park and helpful staff.

You need a car or Taxi to get from this hotel to anywhere else. (walking is not recommended).
Not far from Stockley Park (business) or West London.

st brigittine convent, - nr heathrow/uxbridge: Stay in a convent....

Only a few minutes from Heathrow airport / Uxbridge, lies a branch of a religious order which does a sideline in bed and breakfast, here is me with some of the nuns in the morning.

The rooms are en-suite and available for singles or couple. comfortable, if a little spartan.

Beautiful gardens surround this mock-tudor building which is very close to the Pinewood film studios.

Unique Quality: There can't be too many bed and breakfast establishments that have an attached catholic church.

also no TV, and books on swedish nuns

Park Inn: Rezidor SAS's closest hotel to Heathrow Airport

I have not stayed there - however I have visited and toured the hotel and conference centre, had lunch in the carvery and attended a Christmas party in the hotel.

All were enjoyable experiences!
