Wigginton Farm: Quiet CL

This was a pleasant Caravan Club CL on a quiet, no through road. Beautifully peaceful even though the site was full with 5 vans on.Part of a much larger field which was inhabited by bullocks.
We arrived after a night of rain and days of rain beforehand. The sun was cracking the tiles as we drove warily onto the field. It's so easy to get bogged in in a motorhome.No probs. Everyone else was already established but even so, we called at the farm on foot and checked we would be ok. on the field. "Fine. The field's dry. If you get stuck, I'll pull you out anyway." So, we then began the positioning of the van on level ground. That's when we became stuck and the arguments began!!! Nick had driven the van exactly where I'd told him not to and consequently driving into the boggiest patch of the field!!!
Once pulled out, we were ok. although it was tricky getting on and off site, especially as we had more rain.We were even able to sit out every night for a short while before it became too cold. It was very pleasant and relaxing listening to the birds twittering away and watching the bullocks watching us!!

Unique Quality: Peacefulness and the fact the owners had left it as a basic CL. without electrics etc. A good old "no frills" CL with the adequate facilities of a tap, a bin and a chemical disposal point.
Within walking distance of the town of St. Martin's where there is a pub (which didn't seem to serve food) and a large supermarket amongst other delights!!! Also the Shropshire Union canal is a short walk away.
And all for £3 a night.
