Never judge a book by its cover

Me and the wife arrived at this so called WALES BEST KEPT SECRET, looked nice from the OUTSIDE, however, first thing we noticed was the terrible state of the carpets, the windows were dirty, dust everywhere (the wife notices these things). The staff were friendly, but there was a strange smell around the reception area, we noticed this smell stronger at night time when we entered the restaurant, almost like something had died.
Our room looked terrible, everything is old fashioned and the worse thing not even looked after, i was very upset seeing a piece of history like this begin to vanish in front of our eyes because of neglect, probably due to owners wanting to make a quick buck then run.
The food was standard, seemed to get much better as the week went on.
Being next to a river made me think could the smell we witnessed earlier be a dead rodent of some kind....?? (Dread to think)

Final thoughts and score: The building is falling apart, being a builder by trade, they would be much better off knocking the whole thing down and starting again because they certainly don't care for the building as it is.

Value for money 1/10

Hope this review helps,

Unique Quality: Nice view, that's it.
