Lamphey Hall Hotel: A really memorable stay...

The Lamphey Hall Hotel is situated just a 20 minutes drive away from the centre of Tenby and even closer to the beautiful beaches at Freshwater East and Manorbier. It's also within walking distance of the Lamphey's Bishop Palace and a short drive away from Pembroke Castle. It is an attractive old cottage building which, when you walk inside is full of character and charm. The outside seating in the garden is really nice too. Here you can sit and listen to the trickle of water in the pond and gaze out into the countryside beyond the road. I stayed here for three nights over the weekend of Ironman 2013 in Tenby. We were met at reception by Andrea who turned out to be our entertainment and the perfect hostess for the rest of our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable with lovely comfy beds tea and coffee making facilities, TV and hairdryer. Everyone at Lamphey Hall Hotel made you feel like you were one of the family, even the locals who called in to the small cosy bar at the end of the day. It was here where Andrea literally had us in stitches with her wit and humour - she really should be on a stage.
The food here is to die for. We went out for tea on the first night of our stay and were quite surprised to find the car park full on our return. The restaurant was buzzing and full of happy diners. Unfortunately I had booked meals in Tenby for the remaining nights of our stay but we did stay for Sunday Lunch before going home - it was really delicious.
To say I enjoyed my stay here is an understatement, it was fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Lamphey Hall Hotel to others.

The Friendly atmosphere is like nowhere else.

Wychwood House Penally Tenby Wales: An Oasis of Calm 20mins from Downtown Tenby

We stayed in a 4-Poster equipped room with shared balcony overlooking the links golf course leading to the West beach. We took B/B terms although evening meal are offered. The place is immaculate, great breakfasts and a nice garden. It is quiet - unlike some b/b downtown! WiFi was free and our room had Sky TV too. The hosts Lee and Mherly Ravenscroft are very helpful with tips where to visit - plenty to see in the area. The walk to the adjacent beach over the links is around 15 mins or to the main town with all its shops and the main beach around 20 mins or so. All in all a great place.

Unfortunately, it looks as though these flats are no longer available (as of October 2008). Check out the http://www.virtualtenby.co.uk/ website for accommodation ideas, while I look into this!

Bed and Breakfast, Guesthouse

I recommend to stay in a private Bed and Breakfast or Guesthouse accomodation. Tenby is a popular seaside resort, therefore it has plenty of private accomodations. But in the high season it can be booked up.

Bed and Breakfast or Guesthouse accomodation offer various advantages which make your holiday unforgettable:
You get in contact with the locals and get an idea of their way of life.
You get in contact with other tourists.
The cooked breakfast is excellent and keeps you full until the afternoon.
