The Hotel is housed inside a beautiful building dating back to 1180, which was originally a monastery before becoming a nunnery.
Many of the best features inside the hotel date back to the 14th century, including ancient flagstone floors and many panels and stained glass windows adorn many of the walls inside. Surrounding the Nun's court are 14th century glass medallions which are said to depict the NINE Roman Emperors (told you this place was important in the Roman world!) who have visited Caerleon.
There are 22 bedrooms all en-suite with satellite TV, mini bars and are all excellently furnished.
The brochure desribes the Master Bedroom - the Blue Room, as "boasting magnificent original ceilings, an oak carved four poster bed and a spectacular marble bathroom with jacuzzi...
Prices are very reasonable and the hotel has a 3* Welsh Tourist Board rating.
Check out my restaurants tip for what's on offer at the hotel.
