Newport
The day we went to visit friends in Newport it was bucketing with rain. A typical Welsh welcome. As a result , I couldn't see much of the town itself. I've driven through so many times and also been through by train, so will have to rely on pictures from the train. It isn't very big, and there honestly isn't much to see anyway.
There are ruins visible from the train , which catch your attention though they are not very big.
Newport is a railway junction for trains going to Abergavenny,Manchester, Birmingham, and on to Cardiff and Swansea. And of ourse it is on the main Paddington, London to Swansea route.
