The Penrhyn Arms Hotel

What is now the University of Bangor first started off In 1884 as the University College of North Wales and was situated in an old coaching house called The Penrhyn Arms Hotel.
The Penrhyn Armas Hotel was built by Benjamin Wyattin 1799 and housed the University College of North Wales untill it moved to new buildings in 1926.
The hotel was mostly demolished when the route of the A5 was changed and now only the arched entrance remains.
