Brilliant stay at the Can-y-Bae

by TripAdvisor Member arthurbear

Just returned from a four day break at the Can-y-Bae, a lovely clean
medium sized hotel with excellent service, and an absolutely
gorgeous breakfast, the best I have tasted in a long time.

Great stay at Can - y - Bae.

We stayed here for a short break ( 2 days) after the hotel was recommended by a friend. We were told that the hotel was great and we were not disappointed.
We had a Premier sea view room. The room was very nicley decorated and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. Good shower, fluffy white towels and nice toilertries were most welcome. Trouser press, iron and ironing board in the room along with good tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water.
The lounge and bar areas were pleasing to the eye and very comfortable. We opted for dinner both nights and the food was varied and tasty. Portions very good too, you certainly wont come from dinner hungy. Breakfast again was excellent.

The owners David and Michael were very friendy and attended to our every need. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Llandudno. I for one will most certainly go there again.

Wow! What a suprise, We have been visiting Llandudno for the past 17 years, staying in many hotels, some of the largest, so we decided this year to try one of the smaller Townhouse hotels.

There is no doubt that the Can-Y-Bae is the best we have visited, both for the cleanliness and the attention given to us by Micheal and David. The food is excellent and because the hotel is small, you are treated like an individual, not a number..

The bedrooms and sitting areas will match any of the hotels we have been to anywhere in Europe and they deserve the four star AA rating they so proudly display.. We will most certainly be back.

Excellent as usual.

We have just returned from our third stay in this Hotel, but it is more like visitng friends. The owners, David and Michael, although always busy, can always find time for a chat and a joke or offer advice on places to visit in the locality. Nothing is too much trouble and every detail is taken care of.
The food is excellent and cooked to perfection.
All rooms are very tastefully decorated and create a very relaxing atmosphere. Cleanliness is first class.
The Hotel is ideally situated for visits to the Venue Cymru Theatre and Conference centre, and only a short trip to the Great Orme with its stunning views.
If you are thinking of staying in Llandudno, don't hesitate, book into the Can-Y-Bae.

our stay at the can-y-bae was outstanding it is a very frendly and very well presented hotel with excellant restraunt and bar ideal after a hard week at work to unwind

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!

I stayed for a short break at the end of June and found the Can-Y-Bae to be a suprising jem.

The hotel and rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished. The cleanliness is excellent and room facilities were very good. The stairway is a beautiful asset to this building, but a lift is also provided for those who may need easier access to the upstairs rooms. The hotel bar has a wonderful 'musical' theme to it, which is very fitting with the Venue Cymru just a short walk from the hotel.

The hosts, Michael and David were extremely welcoming and friendly, and the home cooked food they prepared was excellent at both breakfast and dinner.

The hotel is situated in a perfect location from the promenade, theatre, town and many other amusements. Great for all ages!

I will definitely be back.

Fantastic, hope we are able to return sometime

We spent a delightful 4 days in Can Y Bae and can honestly say it is just about the best hotel we've stayed in!

Our room was very comfortable and well furnished - and we had a fantastic view over the bay! All was spotlessly clean and everything worked - which is more than we can say for almost all of the more expensive places we’ve stayed. There’s a lift to all floors.

The meals (both breakfast and optional evening meal) were excellent - all home cooked - even down to the home-made rolls - and the evening meal was fantastic value at £13 for 3 courses + coffee.

Parking is in the road but proved no problem as there were always places close by and the hotel loaned us a parking permit (refundable £10 deposit) - but its free anyway 4pm - 10 am and then only £3 per day.

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners Michael and Dave - who made everybody very welcome. Even our dog (a well behaved and very soppy Collie) loved it as she got a free sausage for breakfast and dinner!

very welcoming!

from the moment we arrived michael and david were brilliant hosts..even though we arrived late evening with no reservation and a 5 month old baby they did everything they could to accomodate us. the rooms were tastefully decorated and have everything you could need. we highly recomend the evening meals....real home cooked food at a very reasonable price! we will definately be back again!

Welsh wine in Llandudno

by TripAdvisor Member Classictourists

We stayed here for just one night on our way back to the ferry in Holyhead and were very sorry we couldn't stay longer. The welcome was warm and nothing was too much trouble. We had a fantastic double room (four poster bed!) with a fabulous view over the bay. Everything you could need was supplied in the room and the attention to detail was remarkable for the price. Our home-cooked dinner was really enhanced by a delicious bottle of Welsh pinot noir. We'll definitely be back!
