The Vikings called the local limestone mountain Orma Heva.The Romans came later and named it the Great Worm and restarted the ancient copper mines.
The town of Llandudno lies between two limestone mountains, now called Great Orme and Little Orme. A visit to the town is not complete without a trip by cable car, tramway or on foot. The views from the top are worth all the effort.
