Only the public rooms of the Rose Tor are comfortable and attractive. You can lounge on the big squashy sofas in the bar and seating areas. The staff were friendly and hard working.
In the bedrooms we found curtains and bedspreads pretty and attractive but the wallpaper was stained and parts of it coming off, and electrical fittings were coming away from the wall, a light bulb was missing from above the vanity unit and there was a hole in the wall near the switch. The ensuite was awful to, I had to keep the door shut as the smell was disgusting. Towels hard and worn.
However we only needed a bed for the night as we were flying the next day from Manchester which is one and half hours drive away.
Double room was 22.50 per person with breakfast, though we didnt get a discount for not having breakfast.
Unique Quality: The restaurant in the Rose Tor have an evening carvery for 10.95 per person, which we thought was a good deal, but if you are staying more than one night it could be a bit repetitive.
However step outside the hotel for lots of nearby restaurants and bars.
Directions: at the top end of mostyn street, very pretty red building
