 We pre-booked the Westdale in Nov 2011 to coinside with a show at Llandudno. We booked the top room at £70 via booking.com. Check in time stated 2pm onwards. We arrived yesterday at 4.15 to be greeted on the doorstep by empty pizza and chip boxes. We opened the door to a dark hallway. When our eyes adjusted we found a service bell which we had to ring twice before someone eventually arrived. They opened the room for us, handed the key and left - no details on parking, meal time, where we ate our meal was given. The room was freezing. We tried adjusting the radiator, but it was stone cold. The wallpaper was hanging off the walls due to damp and the window sills were dirty with damp and plaster that had fallen off. We rung for assistance and after fidling with radiator the owner said it had been turned off at the boiler. Whilst this was going on we had switched on the TV - this said "no service" indicating that the service provider had turned off the chanels. When we asked about this she said this had also been turned off at the living quaters and would sort something out. We then decided that as we had booked the top room, this was unacceptable and the room was unfit to sleep in. We told her we were leaving and the reasons why. she said we could not have a refund as we had booked online via booking.com. We left and found alternative accomodation. This morning I rang booking.com, who told me the hotel had contacted them yesterday to ask for my card details as we were a "no-show" and they wanted my money as a cancellation. Booking.com have taken this very seriously and are now dealing with the hotel on our behalf. Avoid Avoid Avoid.
