The Plas Bodegroes is a 200 year old country house outside of Pwllheli, set back from the road surrounded by welsh farmland. There are 11 rooms which are priced according to size starting at £50 and going up to £85.
It was opened in 1986 by the present owners and the restaurant has a Michelin star as well as many ratings from other top restaurant guides. The chef uses fresh traditional local ingredients and gives them a modern twist for example scallops with coconut leeks, Welsh black beef with oxtail stew and parsley dumplings.
The restaurant decor is a modern minimalistic design with contemporary Welsh Art and is a stark contrast to the old building but is spacious and comfortable.
There is a South Facing Garden, courtyard for breakfast in fine weather and a Beech avenue surrounded by Welsh farmland for walks.
Open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner and Sunday lunch. There are also rates for weekend breaks. This is a good base to explore the Lleyn Peninsular coastline and countryside.
